Help get Eagle Creek Farms’ garlic ready for market

Rarely do city dwellers get the opportunity to visit a farm nevermind lend a hand to a farmer during high harvest season.

On Wednesday September 9, John Mills of Eagle Creek Farms is inviting keen and industrious folks to his farm to help get garlic cleaned and ready for winter storage and to help break seed garlic into individual cloves for planting. This is a “many hands make light work” project that promises the easy chatter of busy hands and the satisfaction of making a difference in the life of a local farm – plant and human.

Weather permitting, some garlic will be planted on the day.

All participants will get a chance to challenge one of the corn and sunflower mazes on the farm.

Visit Farmer John’s Blog for more information and to see photos of a previous harvest: eaglecreekfarms.blogspot.com *If you wish to volunteer to help prepare the garlic, you need to send an email to John Mills at Eagle Creek Farms. There is an email link from the front page of the blog.
