Congratulations to Slow Food Calgary’s Terra Madre Delegates!

If you have been chosen to represent Slow Food Calgary at Terra Madre 2008 in Torino, Italy – you know who you are – here is some information you will need.

When, what and where…Held concurrently with Salone del Gusto in Torino from October 23 to 27, the third edition of the biennial international of the Terra Madre Network will bring together food communities, cooks, academics and youth delegates for four days to work towards increasing small-scale, traditional and sustainable food production.

Terra Madre was conceived by Slow Food International, the philosophy of which has evolved over the organization’s history and has crystallized around the idea that “eating is an agricultural act and producing is a gastronomic act”.

Slow Food International recognizes the need to protect and support small producers, and to help to change the systems that have placed them in danger by bringing together the key decision makers within our international food systems: consumers, educators, chefs, cooks, researchers and NGOs, for example.
